Most commonly referred to as “double muscling”, this muscle hypertrophy may result in calves with larger birth weights, therefore causing increased dystocia, but are also known for increased tenderness. Animals are extremely muscled, with abnormally large, wide and rounded rump and thighs with prominent creases between muscles. Possible variants tested include C313Y, nt419, E226X, nt821, E291X, Q204X, D182N, F94L, and S105C.
