About the Speakers


Tony Lupo - Senior Director of Global Technical Services, Neogen
Tony oversees the global Technical Services department for Neogen’s food safety products. During his Neogen career, Tony has specialized in antibody design and purification, bioconjugate chemistry and assay development for mycotoxins and food allergens. He has also overseen validation requirements for the company’s immunodiagnostic portfolios. Prior to Neogen, Tony developed in-vitro diagnostics for human and veterinary applications with Oxford Biomedical Research. In 2025, Tony was elected to the American Association of Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) Board of Directors. Tony previously served on the AOAC International Board of Directors from 2016-2023 and the Board of Directors for the Food Allergen Research and Resource Program (FARRP).


Ez Elmerhebi Ph.D. - Head of Technical Services, Neogen iEMEA
With over 15 years in the food safety industry, Ez leads Neogen’s Technical Services department in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Ez’s expertise spans the food safety portfolio of microbiology and immunodiagnostic solutions, and includes extensive knowledge and experience in mycotoxin detection and analysis. Ez received a BSc and PhD in Microbiology from the University of Liverpool and has a background in research and development and technical support for the food industry.


Michelle Clemmens - Professional Services Associate, Neogen iEMEA
Joining the Neogen Professional Service team in April 2024, Michelle relocated from the UK to sunnier climes to support customers in the Middle East and Africa. Michelle has a passion for applying her knowledge and experience to support customers improve their operations through new method implementation, process standardization and driving continuous improvement. Michelle is the regional lead professional service associate on mycotoxin testing, and, also has a keen interest in environmental monitoring. Prior to her move to Neogen, Michelle was the Group Quality Manager for Eurofins, with responsibility for the food microbiology labs in the UK. During her 12 years in UK commercial laboratories, Michelle has built practical experience across food chemistry, food and water microbiology and the implementation of new systems and methods.
